Brunch & Bubbles

We are super excited to be participating in Gambit's Brunch and Bubbles event at New Orleans Auction Galleries! Shaun Smith Home as well as 5 other local designers will get to design vignettes incorporating furniture from the auction house with some of our own pieces. 

The whole idea is to get people interested and aware of auctions. Many feel intimidated by attending an auction when really you can get some pretty amazing pieces at reasonable prices - not to mention it's a great experience! 

This event will be tons of fun and did we mention there's champagne!? You can never go wrong with some bubbly! So come on out January 19th and have some fun with us!

All About Rope...

We were pleased to see a trend we've been noticing - rope - featured throughout Tom Felicia's home in House Beautiful. 

We immediately thought of our acrylic cubes with rope handles when seeing his handrail. 

And what do we spy below, perched on the console table!? 

None other than our rope cloche!

Acrylic Lovin'

We are all about all things acrylic these days at Shaun Smith Home! So much so, that we ordered these lovelies for the shop:

The moment these guys hit the shop floor everyone was in love! We placed 3 of them in front of our clients sofa: 

Our client has an extra long sofa, about 9 feet? So we were able to fit 3 cubes in front as coffee tables. 

We think it looks great! And don't worry, we're ordering more this week!

Blanche's Boudoir Redone - Shaun Smith Style!

A little known fact about the Shaun Smith Team - we are all OBSESSED with The Golden Girls. We quote them, we discuss their fashion sense and of course we engage in never ending conversations about their decor! 

So after one too many slices of cheesecake last night while lounging on our Lanai, we decided to redecorate Blanche's Boudoir. Let's face it - she's the most fabulous of them all!

Fun Before & After: A Clients Great Room

We wanted to share with y'all a project we are in the middle of working on. Before & afters are always fun so take a look below at the blank canvas we got to work with for this beautiful home!

As you can see from the above images, we literally had a blank canvas to work with.

On "Install Day" we brought our movers over and did the whole room in one day! A very HGTV/BRAVO type day indeed - a broken vase, dog escaping the house, etc. but we all survived and the house is looking gorgeous!

AFTER:

We LOVE the way the room came out! Very true to the Shaun Smith aesthetic - classic, with a masculine feel and a modern take on traditional. 

We can't wait to share the rest of the house once it's complete. 

Start Spreading the News....

Greetings!! Betsey here from the Shop. I just wanted to share that Shaun and I will be heading to New York City this weekend for the New York International Gift Fair!!! We are SO excited to meet some new vendors and broaden the furniture and accessories we carry here at Shaun Smith Home and for our clients.

Also, while in NYC, we will be scouring the city for amazing pieces for a new project we are designing in The Big Apple!
